The only way I know how to describe what I saw on Monday night as Kansas folded in the final

moment against the Texas Longhorns is just the incredible shock that we have when this

happens to the Kansas Jayhawks. They are so good in close games

and almost always win these things that it was just shocking to see Texas go 7-0

in the final minute of the game on Monday night. Another thing that ran through my head was

this is shocking, but the ones that we remember, the times

that we've seen this, not always, because generally speaking, when Kansas gets punched out

in the NCAA tournament, it's a team that has a really hot night shooting threes. The shots are all

going in and they can lose by eight points, 10 points, or be down by 8 or 10 and make a run and not be able to finish it off or something like that. But that's what this was not. There have been a few like this, and we want to think maybe of the NCAA tournament of the postseason, but not really. It's a really short list of games that we've seen in Bill Self's tenure at Kansas where something like this has happened up for with with a minute to go and the Kansas Jayhawks lose the final minute, seven nothing. And yes, there was a very

lucky Trey Mitchell banked three point shot that went in. But as Bill Self would say after the game,

crap like that happens in ball games from time to time. K, you still had a bad defensive

possession and a bad offensive possession after that that

cost them the game.

And the compliment here is, look, Kansas is still in first place.

They're still huge favorites to win the Big 12, in my mind.

They've already just destroyed Baylor.

They're finished with Texas Tech.

So to me, they're a very big favorite.

I thought they looked good most of the night.
