Today's cool story, robots learning how to communicate intent.

Imagine a hospital where delivery robots, cleaning robots, and security robots all move

through the same hallways, or a warehouse filled with machines with different manufacturers,

each trying to get its job done

without creating a robot traffic jam. That future is arriving fast and a new robotics framework

aims to make sure that robots don't start arguing over who gets the right of way. For years,

most robots have been like drivers who only tell others where they are, not where they're going.

A robot might broadcast its location,

speed and status, but it wouldn't necessarily tell nearby machines, hey, I'm about to cross this

aisle, or I'm headed to charging station number three. That's a new problem interoperability
