Greetings Clark's World Citizens. I'm Neil Clark, the publisher and editor of

Clark and I've temporarily taken over hosting responsibilities while Kate Baker recovers from her recent

surgery. She's doing well and I'm sure you'll join me in sending her the best of thoughts.

Between the two of us, Kate and I have logged nearly a month of hospital time since June. I think

that's more than enough, don't you? Since my heart attack, I've done a lot of thinking

about my priorities in life. One of the things I've decided to do is make a run at making

Clark's world a professional magazine, which means paying our staff a

reasonable wage and someday being able to do this for a living. Right now most of

us are volunteers and we are paying our

authors professional rates but I think it's time to take this last step.

This month's editorial kicks that off, so wish us luck.
