Summary

I've been looking forward to this one for a long time. This is a wide ranging discussion on how power (and the desire for it) shapes everything we do—from how we use social media to how we shape our identities. We get into how power is used and misused, misinterpreted, and of course, why we need to define our relationship to power.  Robert Greene is the author of several New York Times bestsellers, including The 48 Laws of Power, Mastery, The 33 Strategies of War, and The Laws of Human Nature. Greene grew up in Los Angeles and attended the University of California, Berkeley before finishing his degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.A. in classical studies.  Greene estimates he's worked about 80 jobs, including construction worker, translator, magazine editor, and Hollywood movie writer. His first book, The 48 Laws of Power, catapulted him to fame at age 36. His works are widely praised by a diverse array of sources, from politicians and war historians to musicians, executives, and actors.
