What kind of music did you love when you were 14 years old?

Actually, I love pop rock music. I love Billy Joe. I love Bruce Hornsby.

I love Bonnie Raid and I loved hip hop as well. I was a Tribe Called Quest fan and I loved

a lot of Keith Jarrett at that time period. Fewer of the guests on our show who don't say

that when they were 14 they loved Keith Jarrett a Tribe Called Quest and Bonnie Raid.

That will literally be like a mixtape. I used to make tapes to listen to in my car.

My friends get in my car and play. They'll be like nodding to the Tribe Called Quest but you

keep riding in about 10 minutes. It's Bullseye.

This week, Robert Glasper transforms the 90s grunge hit smells like teen spirit into

something surprisingly beautiful. I talked to Pendleton Ward about his animated show Adventure Time.

It combines two great elements of teenage boyhood. Innocence and Dungeons and Dragons.
