There is a collaboration between Robert Koover, one of my very favorite writers, and Art Spiegelman.

Art has done the drawings for what amounts to a short story novella called Street Cop.

Together, they've produced a gorgeous book. It's from a press called Isolari, and they are putting out little books, small books,

Robert Koover is 89 years old. It's a real privilege to have him with us. Art Spiegelman is an old, old friend of

bookworm and my own old friend, and we will be working together. We're all in different settings.

This book is about a man.

He once was a drug dealer and a thug.

He, by accident, has succumbed a street cop.

But he's living in a dystopian future,

in which a street cop is a minor figure.

His job is to arrest as many people as possible and not to solve crimes.

even using his cell phone. He lives in a world that is not the world that existed when he was

young and he doesn't quite know how to live in it. Bob, is he you? No, he's not,

but I did use a bit of my own experience to outline him. He had a hard time coping with the new

technology and says, do I? and so that's part of the comedy.
