Robert A. Russell was a spiritual writer known for his books 'You Too Can Be Prosperous: The Spiritual Secrets of Abundance and Prosperity' and 'You Can Get What You Want If You Find It Within Yourself'. Here from his book dry those tears he discusses the afterlife making the argument that the dead are the living. “BEHOLD, I AM ALIVE FOREVER MORE.” Those who sorrow are still asking the question that Job asked more than three thousand years ago: “If a man die, shall he live again?” You recall that he answered the question himself when he added: “For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, that the tender branch thereof will not cease.” “Is my loved one asleep in a grave awaiting some future resurrection?” asks the sorrowing soul. “Is there any means of communicating with him? Is there any tangible proof of immortality?” If we can answer these questions, the sting of death will have been removed. No longer thinking of those who have departed as asleep in a grave, we shall have the same relation to them spiritually as we formerly had physically. When we think of them, we shall think of them in the same way that we think of a loved one who has changed his place of residence, let us say from New York to San Francisco. Although his body is out of sight, we do not challenge the fact of his existence. We used to think of Eternal Life as a state of perfection to be reached through death. We now know that it is a present possession. “This is Life eternal, to know Thee.” In other words, the life we are now living is the only life we shall ever have. It is not snipped off at one end, for it had no beginning. That is what Jesus meant when He said, “Before A braham was, I am.” Life is like a circle that is forever expanding or contracting. Man, made in the image and likeness of God, is co-existent with His Creator. “Lord, Thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.” Life did not begin when we were born; nor does it cease when we die. Life is eternal. Man lives, and moves, and has his being in God. Where, then, do birth and death come in? Birth and death appear only on the relative or time plane. They are simply incidents in time.
