melancholy in my voice, a little bit of sadness, it's because we have a shocking,

breaking news story at the top of the show. Legendary director, Rob Reiner and his wife have been found stabbed to death in their

LA home.

The son is being eyed as a person of interest.

So Hollywood is reeling.

Last night, the legendary director, Rob Reiner and his wife, were found stabbed to death

inside their very fancy Brentwood home and law enforcement are telling me, I spoke to them

late, late last night, that they are looking, they are closely examining the couple's troubled adult son.

Rob was 78 years old, a legendary filmmaker, his wife was 68 years old.

They were discovered Sunday afternoon by their daughter.

Their daughter found them, according to sources briefed on the

investigation. Police sources tell me that a knife was used in the attack and no arrests have been

made yet. One law enforcement insider told me late last night, quote, this is being treated as a very serious, very personal crime.

That's the key word there. It's personal.

Whenever a stabbing is involved, it is always personal.

When a gun's involved, it could be other factors, but a stabbing is very, very personal.
