It's such a frustrating, difficult disease to have when there shouldn't be a reason in the world why you should be depressed but you are.

And, you know, I struggle to get out to bed or get out for a run or be a positive person, be a good husband, be a good friend.

And I find myself incredibly isolated and lonely.

A lot of that's self-imposed.

And last fall with the injury, it's hard of me just doesn't want to bring other people down.

So I was very quiet and almost coy about the severity of my injury and whether there was hope to get back running or not

I didn't know the answer myself, but I wanted to put up a front that I was okay and that everything was going to be okay but it wasn't.

And last fall was by far the darkest, deepest hole I found myself in.

And in terms of thinking about the future and what it holds and thinking about the worst case scenario.

Yeah, it was a close, it was the most I'd ever thought about suicide and ending my life.
