Very excited to have an extended interview edition episode with someone has become a friend over the years and that's never right never welcome.

Thank you very much. I'm very glad to be here. Great so we're we're in a live setting at the moment, which is why the audio might be different from

when you normally hear me on the studio and I think that's going to bring a different flavor

to the podcast than normal.

So, Neville, I know around here in Peterbury you're a very big

business celebrity for people we've got listeners in 120 countries now so maybe

everyone doesn't know who you are. So can you tell everyone about who you are the main business you set up that

be great right well we set up in 1974 as property maintenance and grew that business and after a couple of years we went into

retailing and we built the largest independent nursery retailer being when I say

nursery not plants but it's prams and cots children's goods and we sold

built that over 34 years and along the way we sold four of these businesses at

the last one in 2011 being the Kitty Care.com business and retail business for

70 million pounds which was a world record I think for an independent

company with one shop. Oh right so you saw one shop for 70 odd million

pounds yes one shop 70 million pound cash. Right? And we still have the property business because over the 34 years or 36 years rather we developed the property business alongside the retail business and so when we had finished with the retail

we still had 20 odd million pounds worth of property.
