It's time for another edition of Fighting for the Fate.

Monday, May 4th 2009. I had to take a little time off last week.

Wasn't quite recovering from whatever was ailing me.

So what was my solution? Take a day off and get a little bit of rest.

Even discernment guys need a Sabbath day off, or at least a Friday off sometimes.

My name is Chris Rosebrough and I am your servant in Jesus Christ, dishing up a daily dose of biblical discernment, the goal of which

is to get you to think biblically, to get you to think critically about the claims that people make in the name of God, in the

name of Jesus Christ, in the name of religion, in the name of whatever, and compare it to the word of God. Why? Well, I have this pesky little

belief called Solascriptura. It's the idea that God has spoken. He's spoken to us in his word and his word is true.

Not because I say it's true, but because Jesus Christ says it's true, and he proved to be God in

human flesh by raising himself from the dead three days after he was crucified

by Pontius Pilate. Now I defy any of you guys if you really want to weigh

in on the authority of scripture and you want an opinion and you want to hold to an opinion and

teach an opinion other than the opinion that Jesus Christ has?

Well, first and foremost, you need to prove that your credentials are better than his.

If you would like us to stop your heart or, you know, painlessly kill you.

And if three days you rise from the dead, then we know that you're just as qualified as Jesus to speak on these matters and to contradict

them.

Well, that's not exactly a very loving way of putting it.

Well, maybe we can find an alternative, but maybe we'll just let you run your life out and you can

will hold off allowing you to publish to say anything to the church negative
