Summary

Rob Cesternino (@robcesternino) and Akiva Wienerkur (@keev26) need a podcast and every week, Rob and Akiva spin a wheel of listener-submitted podcast ideas, and whatever the wheel lands on is what they podcast about next. This week, the wheel landed on “The Sequel Mechanism” which resulted in Rob and Akiva revisiting episode 28 of RAANAP in the second "TV Theme Song Bracket." For this episode, Rob and Akiva were joined by RHAP Class of 2020 member Brandon Chappell (@Chappells_Show) and Akiva's co-host on the 32 Fans podcast Alexander Chester (@achester99). After Rob and Akiva crown a "TV Theme Song" champion, they go through the mailbag to hear what new ideas should be added to the wheel and then spin the wheel to see what will be coming next week in episode 126. To check out the first-ever "TV Theme Song Bracket," check out episode 28 from March 25, 2019: Rob & Akiva Need a Podcast #28: The TV Theme Song Tournament. Here is Uncle Keevy, Akiva Whitaker.

0:53.7

Yeah, I feel like it's been a while since we've spoken,

0:56.2

except we did speak for four and a half hours, like three days ago. Yeah. So here we are,

1:00.9

right back at it here today for a highly anticipated episode of one of our most iconic,

1:08.5

especially a most iconic early podcast in the first 50 or so,

1:13.6

maybe number one with a bullet, a podcast that put RANAP on the map for some people,

1:19.3

the TV theme song Brackett One.

1:22.3

And today, Akiva, we are back to talk about 32 snubs from the original list. Are you excited?

1:31.7

I am excited, but I will say we got more criticism for the first TV theme song bracket than anything else we've ever done.

1:39.9

Even though, like, we had nothing to do. Like the list, I think the first one was completely picked by, basically by a list. You and I certainly had nothing to do with it. If anybody we could blame it would be Chester. But I don't even think it was him to blame. I think we did 44 TV shows last time. And there were just like 100 people, 100 different people were made about their show. Yeah. And so we're going to do 32 more today. and then there'll only be 68 people left who are mad. Probably a few new shows that have come down the pike in the last few years. And yet people were mad, but I felt like that overall, hey, I'm mad that this wasn't there, but I enjoyed the podcast. So I would sign up for that today. Yeah. If we could get that same feedback in this episode. I do remember. It's the only time I've ever podcasted where I would like, go pee, come back, and I would be at Max Twitter notification. So just a warning to our guests today. Is that sort of the metric for, you know, PTA mentions? Is that the ratio? Yeah, it was like every P you get 100 plus mentions. You don't even see the number. That's what was happening that weekend. Okay. Good to know. All right. So I've never done that equation before. So we have that. And obviously people pee for different lengths of time. Like there's, you'd have to have Nate Silver really have to analyze like how long it takes in the bathroom how you know how many like how many

2:51.6

mentions you're getting it is like we will work i will have sean falconer work on that for the

2:55.5

third also call my shot for next march podcast theme song bracket yeah people are making like

3:03.2

fan versions of that do you mean when you say podcast theme song, do you mean RHAP, like just in the family?

3:10.1

I think it could be either or all all of podcasting. What about that? You have a favorite, not to put your thumb on the scale 12 months in advance, but do you have like a non-RHAP theme song that you like? What's your favorite podcast theme song? Boy, um,
