Summary

From the nationwide Hands Off Protest, where over 5 million people made their voices heard, to a whiney billionaire realizing the limits of his wealth and influence, and a record-breaking speech before the Senate, this past chaotic week had a silver lining. With a new/old tariff policy in effect, the country is re-learning why taxing our allies and largest import partners alike isn't great for the economy, no matter what an invisible man thinks. Meanwhile, we continue to see libraries, museums, art, government websites, education departments, and public broadcast channels targeted for censorship and revisionist history as U.S. residency and citizenship are marketed Willy Wonka style via a golden ticket. HHS firings, illegal deportations, retaliatory acts, and making sure Mel Gibson is armed are some of the current priorities for a warped administration.

All opinions are personal and not representative of any outside company, person, or agenda. This podcast is hosted by a United States citizen, born and raised in a military family that is so very proud of this country's commitment to free speech. Information shared is cited via published articles, legal documents, press releases, government websites, public videos, news reports, and/or direct quotes and statements, and all may be paraphrased for brevity and presented in layman's terms.

“I love America more than any other country in the world and, exactly for this reason, I insist on the right to criticize her perpetually.” - James Baldwin

Welcome to the high and low podcast. This is your host, Bravo, Bravo, Draking, Bravo,

0:09.6

and this is yet another edition of roasting the broligarchy. This is a special spinoff of the

0:14.6

high and low podcast where we make fun of everybody who's trying to turn this country into a

0:19.8

dictatorship, and that's actually really

0:21.3

important. It's not just shit talking, I promise, although that's fun too. Throughout history,

0:26.4

there's a pattern where anybody who's trying to have an authoritarian or a dictatorship type

0:31.4

regime, they thrive off of making people fearful and they thrive off of people self-censoring. So the more we mock them,

0:38.9

the more we laugh at them, the more we break down the absolute idiocy of who they are and what

0:44.3

they're doing, the more it shows them they do not have power over us. It's like the end of the

0:49.2

movie Labyrinth, where Jennifer Connolly's character figures out that the goblin king has no power over her. And she says over and over, you have no power over me. That's this, right now, we are her, and this administration is the goblin king. Which honestly is just an insult to the goblin king, because he had swagger. You know what I'm saying? He could dance. He had style. Our goblin king is just like covered in

1:12.8

orange makeup and he's shitting himself. It's a true goblin. We got robbed. This sequel, like his

1:18.1

draws, is shitty. But in this moment in time where we find ourselves in America, the land of the free,

1:24.6

the home of the brave, we actually have to step up and say, I show these men who show no mercy, no mercy.

1:31.6

And also I think it's good for morale. I think it's good for our mental health.

1:35.5

The things that have made me laugh the hardest since all of this began are like just the dark comedy jokes that have come out of it.

1:41.9

All that to say, never feel bad for laughing at these men, telling jokes about these men, or going as hard as you possibly can. So with that out of the way, per usual, I'm going to tell you about the stories that stuck out to me the most in the news from the week. I try to tell you for each one of those where I read it, and then for each one, even if I forget to say it, I take it and I put all of those hyperlinks to every

2:01.3

article on my Patreon so you can go read it yourself.

2:04.1

All right, where to begin?

2:04.9

Let's begin with the hands-off protest.

2:07.0

It was nationwide.

2:08.3

There was like over 5 million people that participated, including me.

2:11.7

I was ready for anything.
