Well we made it. We are at the end of a grueling two-week stretch of

convention coverage,

a lot of late nights among the TPM staff,

and for readers too, I suppose, who were following along.

I'm joined by Kate Riga and Summer Concepcion.

How is everyone holding up?

Glad it's over.

I agree.

I can't believe it's over, but it's also like,

we're all very tired. Yeah, yep, so last night was obviously Trump's headlining

speech delivered from the White House South Lawn. He had the White House South Lawn

festooned with Trump signs,

as if it were kind of one of his own real estate projects.

A crowd of about 1,500 people were packed together.

There was a handful of masks you could see, but not that many. I think among

Trump's cabinet of old white guys who were in the front row, Alex Azar, the HHS Secretary, seemed to be the only person with a mask on, but there were a few

sprinkled out throughout the crowd as well.

The speech itself was relatively kind of straightforward.

Most of Trump's greatest hits, Biden sucks, you know, the economy is great.

Violence in Democratic cities needs to end, just kind of a rehash of a lot of his common talking points.
