There was this group, The Weather Underground.

Maybe you can introduce them for us.

Who was the Weather Underground?

The rich kid militants, if you like.

Yeah.

So these are mostly Ivy League students who in the late 1960s were all part of a student organization called the Students for Democratic Society,

and they created a splinter group of that massive student organization. It was like the biggest

student organization, political student organization in America at the time. There was like 100,000

members. And the Weather Underground

took over that organization. And they created a splinter group that was more radical than the

SDS at the time. And this was in 1969. And they became first Weatherman. And eventually they

changed their name to the Weather Underground because they didn't like the

gendered term weatherman.

So eventually it became the weather underground.

And their whole thing was we are going to be part of the fight against American imperialism.

And we're going to do it from within the country,

the United States. And, you know, we're going to go along with countries like Angola,
