Hey everybody, this is Rob Leifeld.

Welcome to another edition of Rob Observations, where we gather together and discuss all things,

pop culture and comic books or as much pop culture and comic books as we can sandwich into

each individual bite-sized episode.

I love talking with you guys, love talking comics history,

and today's discussion, it's overwhelming. It's one big, giant word that for me really defines

the age that we blasted into when the calendar shifted into our new millennium, and we left

the 90s behind, the 1900s behind the 20th century goodbye, and we entered the 21st century.

And there is so much that was going on in pop culture and in comic books and certainly the summer of

2000 saw the X-Men movie by Brian Singer and Fox introduced Hugh Jackman and and add to Patrick

Stewart's resume Professor X and Ian McKellen's magnator, Charles, Charles.

Oh, that's so good.

But that's the summer of 2000.

So, you know, that kind of, to me, kicked down the doors.

I will argue with anybody who wants to come at me and say the Blade, you know,

it's the cool thing to do I've noticed.

Oh, Blade started the Commonwealth Revolution.

No, it didn't.

No, it did not. I was

great friends with everybody who was producing Blade at New Line Cinema. It was a vampire movie.

It was a horror movie. It was marketed as a vampire and a horror movie featuring a vampire

hunter, not a superhero, vampire hunter from Marvel Comics, no less, that had
