Armand Membou, the first round pick from a year ago. Now, at this time of year, most of the attention

is focused on the rookie class, the players the Jets just drafted, because this is supposed to be the infusion

of young talent that will take the Jets to the next level. And that's true, especially in the

year like this, where the Jets had four of the top 50 picks. So much is riding on the first round

and second round picks from 2026. The same will be true next year. And that's because this year

the Jets had three first round picks and a second round pick. Next year, the Jets have three first round

picks and a second round pick. But I always think year two is a critical year for player development.

Rookie seasons can be good. They can be bad, but there are lots of different variables

rookies are dealing with.

It's a drastic change moving from college to the NFL for reasons that are obvious and

maybe not so obvious.
