D.H. Palligro of Dead Kennedys and Mimi Parker of Lowe,

both of whom were massive sources of inspiration and light to me and countless others.

We'll return to new episodes next week with a conversation with Deaf Leopards Rick Allen.

Here's my conversation with D.H. Pelligro, originally released in November 2015.

Formed in San Francisco in 1978, Dead Kennedys drew inspiration from the first wave of British punk,

rockabilly, psychedelia, and surf to create blisteringly inventive

hardcore.

D.H. joined the band in 1981, and his explosive group propelled their politically charged songs

into the stratosphere.

I went to keep plenty and say, much more a state for home.

Dead Kennedys broke up in 1986, and D.H. was recruited to join Red Hot Chili Peppers.

His tenure in the band was short-lived, and his musical output was stalled by a descent into addiction.

Now sober, he's joined with some of his Dead Kennedys bandmates and tours with a reformed version of the band, as well as his

own group, Polygro.
