Formed in San Francisco in 1978, Dead Kennedys drew inspiration from the first wave of British punk,

rockabilly, psychedelia, and surf to create blisteringly inventive

D.H. joined the band in 1981, and his explosive group propelled their politically charged songs

into the stratosphere.

Dead Kennedys broke up in 1986, and D.H. was recruited to join Red Hot Chili Peppers.
