At the cross, God was able to accomplish two things

that seemed like they would forever be in contradiction.

The first one is that God's justice was satisfied.

His righteousness was upheld.

And at the same time, we, the ones who had committed

to be in justice, we could be saved.

You see, for God to be righteous,

sin had to be punished.
