Now if you're like me your immediate thought is must not be that great a bill.

Shame on us for our cynicism. Of course as the site points out

Apple's stance on such a legislation that has softened over the past few years.

Still feels kind of weird though.

In a surprise move says Tech Crunch.

Apple this week penned a letter to California State Senator Susan Eggman

voicing support for SB 244, a right to repair bill currently making its way

through Sacramento's State Capitol Building. The piece as SB 244 includes

consumer electronics like phones and laptops and appliances like microwaves and washing machines.

Left out in the mix are game consoles and alarm systems. On the game side the worry is piracy

while the worry around the security systems is security. Turning to Apple's endorsement.
