Summary

The Boogie Board Wave Chasers is a club of women between the ages of 55 and 95. They meet multiple times per week on the beaches of San Diego. Their adventurous meetups are more than a workout– they've evolved into a community of women that show up for each other, in and out of the water.

0:00.0	This past spring I was out running at the beach near my house when I saw a group of older
0:06.6	women boogie boarding.
0:08.1	They were laughing and hollering so loud it was hard not to notice them.
0:12.9	So of course me being me I had to go introduce myself.
0:16.7	I found out these women were part of a club called the boogie board wave chasers.
0:21.6	They've been featured everywhere from local news to the Drew Barrymore show.
0:25.4	They're all between the ages of 56 and 96.
0:28.8	That's right some of these gals are in their 80s and 90s and they get together 5 times
0:34.0	a week.
0:35.0	I asked if I could join them when they're next outing and they were ecstatic.
0:38.7	Pretty soon I was riding waves with them and having a blast.

0:55.2	The week before Easter Sunday I went to the beach to boogie board with a group.
0:59.1	I'd seen on their email thread that I was supposed to wear Easter theme accessories so I borrowed
1:04.0	some bunny ears from my 11 year old neighbor.
1:06.8	When I got to the parking lot the women were wearing their wetsuits but they also had
1:10.9	on homemade hats with fake flowers glued on bunny ears and they were just chomping
1:16.5	at the bit to get out in the water.
1:18.7	Immediately it felt like being part of a big family reunion.
1:22.0	There was so much boisterous laughter and chatter it was hard to get a word in.
1:27.1	That day I met 7 club members including founder, friend, dire and regular member Aaron Wyder.
