Now you very likely experienced something similar to the story that I'm just going to share with you.

0:05.0

I was on Vancouver Island, British Columbia exploring some logging roads, some back roads,

0:10.0

and I'm looking to try and connect one area to another.

0:13.0

The thing is what these logging roads is.

0:15.0

The logging roads, while they're in use when they're actually doing logging,

0:18.0

they're maintained and everything works fine.

0:20.0

But as soon as they're done, they fall into disrepair. They often remove bridges, they'll decommission the roads.

0:26.0

So you end up with this network of roads that appear to lead somewhere, but quite often it's just a bunch of dead ends.

0:33.0

And I'm using my GPS which shows these roads on there,

0:36.0

0:40.0

or find the trails not used, or washed out.

0:47.0

Anyway, so I'm this one day I'm trying to find my way. I'm trying to connect two sections of the island really so and make my way over a past

0:55.4

but I'm just having no luck and I'm by myself and I'm riding along and it's it's a

0:59.5

warm day out the sun's really beating down and this trail starts to get narrower and

1:03.6

narrower and becomes less and less used and then pretty soon the brush is

1:08.7

rubbing my arms and I get to this one section that goes down and it starts to turn around and I realize the road is completely washed out ahead of me right at the corner there.

1:17.0

So I have to stop right there. So I stop very quickly and there is no place to turn around. I mean there's no room there. I've got brush at the sides. It's very difficult and like I said it's hot out so it's a pretty sort of one of those uncomfortable situations.

1:32.0

But luckily, luckily, I had a skill that I used to turn my bike around

1:38.0

in a few seconds instead of grunting and sweating and pushing and pulling and fighting brush and everything in a few seconds

1:44.4

I was flipped around the other way and riding again with a breeze in my face.
