With only two wheels on the road motorcyclists are far more effective by obstacles than car drivers.

Cars might swerve to avoid something, but often they just plow through it.

And if you're following too closely to that car in front of you, well you could find yourself with little time to react.

But you don't have to be following too closely to be surprised by an obstacle.

It could be a trail and you're going around a corner, or maybe you're just topping a rise and there's a

pothole you didn't expect. What happens in the seconds after spotting it is what makes all the

difference. Do you swerve to avoid it? Do you ride over it? Can you stop before it? Miss hit or stop?

That's what we're doing today on our rider skills program. We're also going to take some time to bust a few myths about breaking.
