ever been riding along and all of a sudden the road turns to a soft quagmire of mud

and there's ruts to go through or maybe it was mud and now the ruts are dry and they're fairly deep

and you've got to ride through them, it tends to be a rather daunting situation and many riders will actually turn around at that point and say forget it, I don't want to do it.

Well, it doesn't have to be like that. You can learn how to ride through the ruts with confidence and actually make them enjoyable.

Today on our rider skills segment we've got coach Ramey Stroud back again and he's going to teach us how to ride ruts and make it fun.

You don't have to be an off-road rider, by the way, or an adventure rider to take advantage

of these techniques because you deal with the same sorts of things when you're on the road.

If you go through a construction zone, they take you off the pavement into the dirt and back onto the pavement just going up and over that edge is just like

dealing with the edge of a rot and same as when you pull off the side of a road

you'll notice many roads are like that where the asphalt is fairly thick

you go off the asphalt and into the gravel

and then when you have to go back on you've got to deal with that lip again. All that will be

taken care of today and you should come out of it grinning, smiling, and having fun.
