I'm feeling like Gerard Butler right now, absolutely fired up because we have an absolute Iowa legend in the building.

Ten years ago, somebody I never would have thought I was going to be talking to,

especially not on a podcast where we share in a fraternity of Iowa football.

One of the legends, one of the best quarterbacks to ever suit it up in the black and gold,

Beaner, it's an honor. Thanks for having me guys, I'm fired up. You got the Wave Hat and

all, you're looking good. I try to address the part for today. I gotta get me one of those. What do you think about the wave? What do you think when that came out? I think it's awesome. I mean it took the country by storm, you know, it kind of, it showed up and it's it's right in line with

with coach parents and all the things that he's done

for the program and how much he's done for the children's hospital and

that was a big part of what we did back when I was there

were just paying regular visits just going over there and kind of spending time with

those kids and brightening up their day and Hawkeye football means a lot to those people over there and it's kind of that one bright spot that they have every Saturday and then you know to kind of turn around and the whole stadium to be there. I mean it's huge and you hear all these different you know media people across the country say it's the best tradition in college football and I really think it is and it's a it's a tip of the captain coach fair. It's just another thing that he does that that's first class. Yeah, the man they broke ground on that

hospital just a couple years after you after you graduated right kind of when we came in.

That's one cool thing we got to do that maybe you didn't,

if you did a, you did a lot of cool things and we're gonna get to all that.

The Iowa Hawk guys, what did you know about Iowa before you got there? High school?
