This year's halftime pick has been quite

controversial. It is the

pop superstar Bad Bunny, who of course is one of the biggest musical acts in the world, but is also

of Puerto Rican descent and sings primarily in Spanish. And because politics and our toxic political

discourse dominates every corner of American culture,

this has become a hot button issue, but it's also a big moment where a Spanish-speaking star

is headlining America's biggest music stage.

And when we were thinking about that, we were thinking, how did we get to this moment?

And that seemed like the perfect opportunity to highlight another Puerto Rican crossover superstar

of your, of my childhood.

And that's Ricky Martin, who I think we can safely say, has paved the way for artists like

Bad Bunny and Maluma and the series of Latin pop stars of the current day to be the global

successes and American successes that they have become. So Russ and I felt strongly that it was

important to understand that there's at least a piece of the story about Bad Bunny doing the Super Bowl that wouldn't exist
