He made his television debut in 1977 on the $6 million man and has gone into star in numerous film and TV shows.

In 1981, he won the Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance. This was

the year of his chart-busting album, Working Class Dog, that had songs like Jesse's Girl and I've

done everything for you. In addition to being a talented songwriter, he's the author of two books,

the 2010 memoir Late Late at Night, which Rolling Stone ranked in the top 25 greatest rock

memoirs of all time, and his 2014 novel, magnificent vibration. Both were New York Times bestsellers.

Rick, welcome to the show. Thank you very much. I should also mention that my kids and I,

my kids are 13, 11, and 9, we're addicted to working class DJ. We're always on Sirius XM, 80s on 8, and your show is awesome.

I kind of have fun with it, you know, so I appreciate anything positive.

Well, it's a little bit like what we're trying to do here because on this show, we have

the world's greatest writers on, and we get a little peek behind the scenes and learn a little bit

more about their life and their work and their process.

And you give that to the listeners on 80s on 8 because you've done gigs with half these

guys and you know them, and you can give a little snippet of something that kind of makes it real for the listener.
