Rick, what was the goal that you set out to achieve when you sat down and started to plan

this book out?

I guess it was just, I wanted to just empty the tank of all the old anecdotes and stories

I'd built up over 43 years.

You know, when I was in the last couple of years before I retired when I was in the press

box, something would happen and it would jog my memory and I'd tell a story in the press box and all the younger writers would get a

kick out of it. They'd like, you know, it would be a tie domey story or some store, Herb Brooks or
