All right, everybody, welcome back to another edition of The Teardown. My name is Jeff. Welcome on with my

coworker Jordan Bianchi. We are motorsports writers for the athletic and Jordan is actually sitting at

Richmond Raceway right now and that's a good thing because we're here to talk about the

Richmond Race. Jordan, how are you doing? I'm doing very well, Jeff well jeff yourself what is new and exciting in your

world well i tell you what i was sitting there for a lot of this race going oh my gosh this race

this is oh geez what are we going to talk about on the tear down this is going to be a short podcast

i don't really know and then uh it it all sort of came together with the strategy there.

You know, if you're a fan of that kind of racing, it salvaged it.

I saw, I've mentioned several times in the podcast.

So I always forget what, I always think of people's tweets and then I forget to cite the person who said it.

So I actually saved this person's tweet today because I thought, I'm going to read this

on the podcast.

Someone named Grant Salzano said that this was a fine wine of a race.

It aged beautifully.

And I thought that was an appropriate way to put it.

Because for much of this race, you're thinking, this wine is not very good at all i've had better wine yeah exactly i've had better wine at walmart um but it ended up

you know you're like oh that's yeah it's good good good little strategy race there again you don't

see too many of those these days no and you make a good point and i mean a good chunk of this race, I was like sitting there,

we root for storylines, right? That's what we always talk about. And I was like sitting there like,

oh man, Ryan Blaney and Ross Chastain going at it. This is, this is what we need, right? This is

good. This will give us something. And that kind of fizzled out. And you're right. This was a very different race than what we're used to seeing and how it played out.

I thought the end was interesting. If you're into that kind of thing, our colleague Dustin Long from NBC Sports made a, I thought, a really apt analogy.
