Today I'm joined by European tour player Richie Ramsey.

Richie is the former US amateur champion, a three-time winner on the European tour and burgeoning

golf course architecture.

Appreciate you having me on. Yeah. Thanks for

sure. It's always exciting to talk to guys that can talk about you know competitive golf and playing golf at the highest level, but also architecture.

Oh yeah, yeah, it's playing golf for a long, long time nice since I was a little kid and

fortunate to travel to some far fun places and experience a lot of different courses

and cultures and stuff so definitely got a fresh look at some architecture and that with a lot of travels in the European

touring and obviously coming from Britain got a pretty traditional aspect of it mixed in there so yeah that's kind of my new thing at the moment is learning a bit more about the great designers and what drove them and their skill set and how it's developed over the last, probably 80 or 90 years.

Yeah, and then in your case, where you grew up, I mean, over the last 200 plus years.

So, Richie, why don't you give our listeners a little bit of background? How do you get into golf and

Just kind of your story? All right. I'll try and I tend to to rabble a bit with I'll try and I'll try and cut it as quickly as I can do it with a little timeline. So basically, yeah, I started golf when I was a little kid,

hitting plastic balls and plastic clubs in the back garden. But like any Scottish kid or most Scottish kids,

I wanted to play football, so soccer not American football. When I was younger and by the time I got to about 13 or 14,

I started to realize that I was decent at football but I was never great and I was far better at golf.
