Liverpool Football Club as ever and there's one big breaking news story of course and that is

Liverpool can confirm the appointment of Richard Hughes as the club's new sporting director,

a post who will take up at the end of the 23-24 season.

The 44-year-old will join the Reds after leaving his role as technical director, AFC Bormuth, where he enjoyed a decade of

successful stewardship on the South Coast Club's football operation. Hughes will officially

take over responsibilities at the Axis Training Center on June 1st in advance of the 24-25 campaign

having been appointed by Michael Edwards who was recently named Fenway Sports Group CEO of Football.

The pair previously were together during Hughes's

playing career at Portsmouth. In total, the former Scotland International made more
