So today we're talking with Richard Duncan, famous macro economist. I think you're really going to enjoy this week's show. I've been trying to get Richard on for months. And I appreciate him blocking out some time for us because this for me is a treat. How's it going today, Richard?

Great, Kirk. Thank you very much for having me on. Richard, I know a lot of our listeners probably know who you are, but there's probably a few

So maybe you could tell us a little bit about your background.

I am an American.

I went to Vanderbilt, and after Vanderbilt, I ended up backpacking around the world for a year.

And that really changed my life going forward. I saw Asia in early

1984. And already then, it was booming economically. So I realized go east young man. And I went back and

went to business school at Babson for a couple of years. And when I finished there, I flew to Hong Kong

and found a job as a securities analyst.. And when I finished there, I flew to Hong Kong and found a job

as a securities analyst. Since then, I have lived in Asia most of the time, with a few exceptions.

I've only spent two years back in the U.S. when I was in D.C. working for the World Bank for a

couple of years. But other than that, I've spent most of my career in Asia.

At one point, I was the head of global investment strategy for ABN Amro Asset Management,

based in London, looking at all asset classes globally.

And along the way, I've written three books.
