0:32.0	He was a young man in his early 20s. He was a paranoid schizophrenic. What that means is he thought people were out to get him.
0:40.0	His thoughts were disorganized and he was fearful. But that's not what made him scary. What made him scary?
0:47.0	He suffered from a delusion that anybody that wore glasses was evil. He would go up to total strangers on the street that were wearing glasses.

1:02.0	I'm only 5'4", and Stephen was probably a foot taller than I was. He weighed about 200 pounds and he was solid muscle.
1:11.0	One day he tried to escape and we couldn't let that happen. He put up quite a fight and heard a lot of us.
1:18.0	A few nights later I was on duty for the midnight shift and the mental health worker with me were making rounds.
1:27.0	Going down the hall, going in each room, making sure everybody was okay. When we got to Stephen's room, he was awake.
1:36.0	He asked for a glass of water. Actually, a cup. No glasses and a psychiatric ward.
1:42.0	I poured some water and held it up to his lips and he said, oh no candy. Would you mind letting my arm out of this restraint so I can hold the cup myself?
1:51.0	And I said, oh jeez Stephen, you know I can't do that.
1:55.0	Truth of the matter was, there was no way I would have done it. It took 7 of us just to restrain him the first time.
2:03.0	He looked at me and said, okay, and when I got the cup up to his mouth, he grabbed it with his teeth and flung the water in my face.
2:12.0	But that wasn't the worst part. He started screaming and yelling, repeating my name over and over.
2:19.0	Candy, candy, candy. He threatened not only was he going to kill me, he told me exactly how he was going to do it.
2:27.0	It was the first time in my life I actually experienced what many people talk about.
2:33.0	I felt the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
2:37.0	One of the most frightening things about it was I looked him right in the eyes and his eyes were black.
2:43.0	It was like the iris wasn't even showing there was no color. And not only were they black, they were emotionless, flat, hollow.
