I'm Michael Knowles.

This month, we are reading Animal Farm by George Orwell.

All novels are equal, but some novels are more equal than others.

I am joined by the host of the Rich Zioly show. Can you guess

his name? That would be Rich Zioly. Rich, thank you for being here. Michael, it's my honor.

Thanks for having me. This has been a book on our minds to do for the book club since pretty much

the very beginning. And I don't know how this show has been on for years and years at this point,

and we are only just getting to it now. But this is a book, I think... beginning. And I don't know how this show has been on for years and years at this point,

and we are only just getting to it now. But this is a book, I think the first time I encountered it,

I was in seventh grade or something like that. I think most people are. Why did you pick animal farm? I wanted to see how it would hold up after the fall of communism. Because obviously

Orwell wrote this book to be a critique of communism and utopia in general.

And I've to tell you, Michael, this book holds up better than ever, really in this day and age, because ism, which is really what the book is about, it continues to be something that torments our society and torments human nature and behavior.

So, and this book has everything. It's got action. It's got guns and gun battles, and it's got really great characters. It really is, it has everything, and it's a, it's a quick read.

So for those who haven't read it yet, shame on you, you could read this book in like 45 minutes.
