Hi Jess thank you so much for having me on a beautiful Saturday afternoon after

Thanksgiving feeling still feeling stuff still grazing on the leftovers did a little shopping yesterday and I am ready.

So you're in LA right? Yes I am. You're an actress I am which is cool and you're in I know you have like little bit parts not only in scandal which was actually one of my favorite shows

But also the Black Panther. Yes. Did you just like audition?

Oh my God.

Tell me like the story behind both of those.

Okay, so scandal was my first ever role that I ever book,

like my first ever speaking role.

I booked that in 2015.

And so that was that was just like one of those moments where it's like oh wait because I watch scandal as well I love that show so for that to have been my first role on a show that's led by a black woman and showrunner black woman I mean it was that was really

iconic to be able to be a part of that and then Black Panther I did to the audition in 2017 I had to do five auditions for why like just because it was

wait so how how but you had like a just a it was just like a bit part oh yeah it was one scene it was supposed to be a

longer see but you know how these things go like they start cutting and then

rewrites initially it was like a longer scene with Lupita's character in Lupita

and Lupita Nyungo.

It was like kind of a longer back and forth,

but it ended up getting cut down.

But because the film, you know, films like that

that are really high stakes and that they kind of

keep a tight lid on it.
