Welcome to Everything Iconic with me, Danny Pellegrino. That was a clip from this week's episode of The Real House of Orange County, which we're going to be covering in its entirety. It was kind of a crazy episode with all this lie detector business. And to be honest with you, I don't like a lie detector thing. I don't believe in lie detectors. I think they're nuts. Aren't they not even carried up in the court of law? So why are we carrying them up on the real house of Orange County or any of

these house size franchise? And to me, it just screams of like, we don't have anything else to do.

So like, we're going to throw some lie detector shit in there and just hook everybody up because

it's not even a thing that people would do in real life. And I've been someone who's claimed that they need to start breaking the fourth wall more and more on these shows, and I've been begging for that for years and years now. And at this point, I want them to stop breaking the fourth wall. Now I need that fourth wall back up, because this is not something a group of friends would ever naturally do. It's like all this blogger business, and then now we're hooking each other up to a lie detector test at the house party. I mean, this is a crazy thing that would only happen on a TV show, and it takes me completely out of this thing. And I don't even feel like it's something natural for a cast to do to hook each other up to a lie detector test. So it just screams of jumping

the shark. I'm like, what are we doing here? We're just hooking up cast members to lie detector tests. And I believe that they're all a bunch of liars. And that's what gets you cast on a real house's franchise. Ladies, am I right? I mean, what are we doing here if you're not lying on the show? that's why they cast you in the first place, is if you seem like someone who's going to be a liar,

they're probably going to put you on camera. here if you're not lying on the show. That's why they cast you in the first place, is if you seem

like someone who's going to be a liar, they're probably going to put you on camera and mic you up. I mean, that's the whole point of these shows. You lie about each other. You fight. You argue. You make up. You lie about each other again. You fight. You argue. Make up. That's the whole point. And so what are we doing

to hooking everybody up to a lie detector test?

I mean, it's crazy.

It's absurd.

And it's not something that's natural to real life or... whole point. And so what are we doing in hooking everybody up to a lie detector test? It means crazy.

It's absurd. And it's not something that's natural to real life or I believe something that's

naturally even in a cast. Like when we say breaking the fourth wall, I think what most people

mean by that is like we want them talking and just acknowledging the fact that they're on a TV show.

Like that stuff's good. But in terms of like having to do lie detector tests with each other, I'm like, what the fuck are we even doing here anymore? I mean, this is not what I signed up for. I signed up to see what it was behind the gates of Cota de Casa. I don't want to get old. That's what that's what Papa signed up for. And so now that we're getting all these people hooking up to lie detector tests, and in what world has this ever worked on these shows? It happened on the Real House of Beverly Hills. Remember, LVP was sucking herself up to lie detector test to prove something that nobody ended up hearing about? And so it's enough. Everybody's a liar. And so I'm not convinced. And obviously, Katie was lying the whole time. I mean, Katie's been lying the whole season. So what? I don't really, I don't know that I care that much because again, I think they're all liars. And so was she lying? Yeah, we all knew that. We didn't need some person to come into Hips House and hook her up some machinery.
