RFK Jr. has been confirmed as the Health and Human Services Secretary.

On this vote, the ayes are 52. The nays are 48th confirmation is confirmed.

Former Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell, a polio survivor, was the only Republican to vote

against confirming Kennedy. RFK Jr. faced intense scrutiny over his controversial views on vaccines and public health policy.

But Republican Senator Bill Cassidy, who's also a medical doctor, said he's gotten assurances from Kennedy.

Mr. Kennedy and the administration reached out, seeking to reassure me regarding their commitment to protecting the public health

benefit of vaccination. Meanwhile, the Senate Judiciary Committee voted along party lines to advance

Cash Patel's nomination for FBI director to the Senate floor, while another panel considers

former wrestling executive Linda McMahon for Secretary of Education.

While they're fighting to get a job in government departments, many federal workers have started

losing theirs. Employees in union sources say scores of firings have begun, with staff on probation

periods being laid off at the Department of Education and the Small Business

Administration.
