Hello, everyone, and welcome to police off-the-cuff-the-cuff-Real crime stories.

I'm your host, retired NYPD Sergeant Bill Cannon, a 27-year veteran of the NYPD.

You know, we had to go back to this case, of course, Rex Hume and Gilgo Beach serial

killer because the documentary that came out on the Peacock Network has been out there since June 10th.

And it's called the Gilgo Beach Killer House of Secrets. And it somewhat focuses on the wife, Asa Ellorup, and the daughter of Victoria.

But while trying to tell this story over a three-hour period for a case that goes back to 2010 and actually to 1993 when the first

victim was murdered and that they have that now in the case.

And that victim was, of course, Sandra Castilla.

And that was recently added, and she is one of the seven that Rex Sherman is being charged with.

So for the documentary company, Peacock, to cover this story in three hours is virtually impossible.

However, I watched all three episodes, and I think they did an excellent job.

But for the viewer, that's maybe a first time viewer to this case and doesn't know that much about it,

very difficult to understand the whole investigation and the politics of Suffolk County and all the things that went wrong with this case

over the 14 years it took to arrest the perpetrator, who we believe to be Rex Schuerman.

And we're going to go over some of that.

And now they have him as the New York Post. So, and of course we say he's innocent

or proven guilty, but he's being charged with the murders of seven of the victims. So we're

going to get into that today. So folks, hold on to your hats, hold on to your loved ones,

hold on to your service dog, hold on onto your cup of coffee, about to enter true

crime from a police perspective, about to enter the off-the-cuff zone, the police off-the-cuff

zone.

That's to be some common sense.
