Hello, dear listeners. We've been on a little break from making the show this month,

and I'm out of town, so please excuse my use of my phone mic to record this. We hope you

earth, which has meant that all my research has had to be done while I hide inside the collar of my shirt.

After that, we have a freaky tangentially related series with one of your favorite guests

of all time that takes place in the deeply unnerving European Middle Ages, which you may recall is another one of my great fears.

For this rewind episode, we're revisiting a minisode from 2019 about a piece of art that I cherish

above most others, 1999's horror masterpiece, The Blair Witch Project. The movie has been back in the

news lately as its production company Lionsgate is partnering with Blomhouse to breathe new life

into the old franchise. They're a huge name in the horror genre, responsible for paranormal

activity, The Purge, Megan, and Get Out.

Over the last two months, the original three cast members, Michael Williams, Joshua Leonard, and Heather Donahue, who now goes by Ray Hans,

have been publicly calling out Lionsgate on social media.

It started with an open letter posted by Josh that revealed how they were and continued to be

mistreated by the Entertainment Corporation.

They're asking for residual payments, quote, equivalent to the sum that would have been

allotted through SAG AFRA had we had the

proper union or legal representation when the film was made. They also want what they call,

quote, meaningful consultation on any future Blair Witch movies, as well as a Lionsgate-funded

creation of a $60,000 grant to be awarded to an independent
