Hi, everyone. If you listen to the last retrocast, I mentioned that one of my favorite episodes was my interview with cartoonist Lee Rubin. And that's because his parents were

the first Jewish couple ever married on U.S. television, and he had the footage of them

being married on TV, and I was able to rip the audio from that.

Well, the next morning after I released that episode, I awoke to find an email from Lee,

and that's because he's a longtime listener of the podcast, and he thanked me for mentioning that story.

So naturally, I wrote back and asked him how things were going, and I have to tell you, I was

shocked by the reply I received.

What Lee told me was that on January 4th of this year, he had just gotten out of the shower

and then called for his wife, Teresa, who was having lunch in their kitchen.

But he received no reply and went to find out why.

And in one of those sudden, you know, life-altering moments,

Lee found Teresa they are unconscious on the kitchen floor.

Of course, he immediately called 911 for help,

and upon the paramedic's arrival, they were able to restart her heart.

But sadly, the damage had already been done,

and that's because she had gone without oxygen for an unknown amount of time, and that resulted in a traumatic brain injury,
