Have you, uh,

any, did any of you ever go to camp when you're growing up?

Well, I have a book at home written by a camp counselor for 25 years and toward the end of his camp counseling

he asked parents to bring him actual letters that the kids wrote home while they were at camp.

And so he wrote a book called Letters from Camp, and let me just read you a few of these.

Dear mom and dad, this is the happiest summer of my life and I never want to come here again.

Dear mother and father, everybody likes camp much better this summer and not one kid has run

away since they put locks on the doors.

Dear mom and dad, don't come up to camp on visiting day. They always have everything fixed up nice for visiting day.

Come up some other day when they're not looking.

Here's one that every father here can relate to.

Dear Dad, what size belt do you wear?

I'm making you a surprise in Arks and Cramps.

Here's the actual letter the father wrote back,

Dear Jerry, the same size I had would you make me a surprise in arts and crafts last year.

And the year before that, and the year before that. Here's the last one. This is my favorite one. Dear

mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, Aunt Mary, Uncle Stewart, and cousin Diane.

Please pass this letter on to the next person on the list.

I'm tired of writing a separate letter to every person I know.
