Last night, the committee investigating that attack held its first public hearing.

January 6th was the culmination of an attempted coup.

Benny Thompson, a Democrat from Mississippi, chaired the hearing.

With a Republican Congressman from Wyoming, Liz Cheney as Vice Chair.

Neither minced their words.
