Welcome on to a post-trade deadline tradition here on Hollinger and Duncan, and that is going back slightly more than one year's time to look back on the 2023 trade deadline.

And a lot happened.

There's always more than we remember happened.

Some of these are completely ridiculous trades that should never be talked about again but yet you're tuning into this to listen to us talk

about them we just spend a half half an hour on the no avonlea deal so yeah but i overall impressions, John, is you look back on all the shit that went

down at that 2023 trade deadline.

Did you have any overarching thoughts?

The, I mean, the dominant theme, obviously, was the Brooklyn Nets doing an about face.

I mean, that set the tone about that whole trade deadline.

No, absolutely. I, you know, so I would say, obviously, the Kyrie trade, the KD trade, we'll talk

about those in a second, go through the terms. How do they look now a year on? What I would say,

though, actually, well, I don't know, maybe not. With maybe one exception, I would say that this deadline seemed really seismic at the time, but that probably less, it's actually had less of an effect than I thought it would at the time.

Interesting.

I mean, I thought it obviously.

Like the suns haven't really done anything yet, right?

Like, they haven't been dominant.

They were summarily dismissed in the second round of the playoffs.

Yes.

The Mavs didn't even make the playoffs with Kyrie.

Brooklyn has basically been the most irrelevant franchise outside of Chicago in the league.

Like, at least, you know, the Pistons are interesting because they're so bad and they're, like, doing stuff.

So, you know, it's, and like the Clippers did a bunch of stuff like that really ended up, like, not mattering hardly at all in the end, other than that they didn't get Cam Whitmore in the draft and instead got Kobe Broad.
