I mean, people have been restoring films, obviously, for years,

but I couldn't think of a time or an example where someone had taken a hundred-year-old

footage and put all the computer firepower that we have today to a single purpose of trying

to make this footage look brand new.

Peter Jackson created whole worlds for his Lord of the Rings and Hobbit Trilogies.

Last year, his documentary, They Shall Not Grow Old,

magically brought to life 100-year-old footage shot on the front lines of World War I.

Today, we're revisiting our conversation with Jackson.

If you missed They Shall Not Grow Old last year, the film is returning to theaters in December.

Jackson tells us about hiring forensic lip readers to interpret conversations captured on silent

films so actors could perform the lines.

And he explains how the techniques used in They Shall Not Grow Old, could be used on other films, including

some of his own. But first on the news banter, millions signed up for Disney Plus, but none of
