Last February, filmmaker Eliza Hittman was at the Berlin Film Festival with her Art House

abortion drama, never rarely sometimes always.

She thought about staying for the awards ceremony, but...

I didn't want to get ahead of myself or be disappointed, so I got on a plane and I flew back to New York.

And then as soon as I landed, I got an email politely asking if I would mind coming back.

Hitman had won The Silver Bear and now her film is an awards contention state side.

Today we're revisiting our earlier conversation with Hitman. Never Rarely

Sometimes Always is nominated for seven independent Spirit Awards, including Best Feature and Best

Hi there.

So, as we have discussed on this show more than once, churn.

Churn is the thing that kills the streamers.

I mean, you're in a situation now where everybody's throwing themselves into the streaming wars, hugely, hugely expensive, tons of noise and clutter

in competition to cut through. And the worst thing would be that you could come in and come out,

you can watch Hamilton and go or whatever, Queens Gambit and go. And that is not the object of the game.

I think, you know, this business of throwing everything into streamers is a very dicey game for many reasons.

And that's one of them.

But what we are seeing now is that these streamers are all just going completely at kids programming.
