Happy to be with you once again to set the stage for what is going to be a very busy August here in Happy Valley.

Our coverage of preseason camp is going to hit a different level this weekend at Lions 247.com on Saturday.

We will be inside Penn State facilities for conversations

with head coach James Franklin, all three coordinators, all the position coaches, and as many

players as we can get to as our staff can handle in about a few hours of time. Later that day,

we'll get out into the practice field. We'll have a chance to observe as

much as we can during our window. Again, look at offense, defense, perhaps the special teams,

new players. It's going to be a lot of fun with the photo galleries coming off our first look

at practice. So a ton coming your way. First thing's first, though. We have our second episode

of the podcast this week, and it is our second on the step

chart if you miss the other it dropped on wednesday it's focused on the offensive position

battles we're going to be reviewing throughout this month and perhaps beyond into the season

this time around we look at the defense which is under new management new defensive

coordinator jim noles making this splashy move

from Columbus, Ohio. He is the highest paid coordinator in college football and certainly did

not inherit an empty cupboard in terms of talent, bringing on Mark Brennan and Daniel Gallen now

to help break down that side of the ball. And gentlemen, again, we are working our way towards
