1:27.9 | We'll talk about that coming up in segment number two. Here in segment number one, news and notes of the day, and it's really just a recap and a review of what we saw from the Raiders and 49ers in their joint practices. So there was a lot that I was looking forward to on Thursday's joint practice between the Raiders and the 49ers at the Intermountain Health Performance Center. And I was hoping that they were going to get so much really good work in the Raiders and the 49ers that you weren't going to see a lot of the starters or my expectations were going to be that you didn't see a lot of the starters because they were going to get, you know, so many great plays in and, you know, the Raiders' offense and defense was going to be clicking on all cylinders. And so a lot of the young guys were going to get a lot of the burn in preseason game number two. I think that's going to have to wait till preseason game number three. Now that doesn't mean that it was a bad practice from the Raiders or the 49ers. I thought it was good. That it was good by the Raiders. I thought it was good by the 49ers. I thought the Raiders had moments where they looked good and they had moments where they look bad and i think you can say the |
2:34.6 | same thing for the san francisco 49ers but look we're here to focus in on the silver and black so for them |
2:39.9 | they started slow offensively and defensively it seems like they were just kind of slow getting out the gates |
2:45.7 | and there was a lot of folks there in attendance uh you know raiders and 49er fans and i thought that |
2:50.7 | everyone was really |
2:51.6 | pretty cool. Nobody acted crazy and acted a fool. I got to give a lot of credit to both teams because |
2:57.1 | they didn't really get into any fights. There was a couple pushing and shoving here and there, |
3:00.6 | but nothing like you have seen at other times when teams have their joint practices. But for the |
3:06.3 | Raiders, they started off slow, offensively and defensively. And then finally, things started clicking offensively. Brock got involved, Jacoby Myers got involved, and then Ashton Jentee got going. And I was pretty encouraged when I saw Ashton Jenty get going because that means that the offensive line got going. That was one of the first positives that I really saw when the offensive line started to get some push and you saw Ashen Gentie pick up 20 yards here, 20 yards there, go for some really big runs. And look, this 49ers defense, even though they had some key guys out along that defensive line, they still are nothing to shake a stick at. They still can get after it. And, of course, they got this dude in the middle named Fred Warner. |
3:42.3 | Yeah, he's him. Fred Warner is a dude. And I'll tell you, on my radio show on Thursday, had a lot of people that were at practice calling in and saying, hey, man, that Fred Warner guy is really, he's really good. Like, we all know how good he is just off a name alone. but when you're up close to personal |
3:38.1 | you actually see him operate and take control |
3:40.7 | of that 49ers defense, you understand |
3:42.8 | that. is just off a name alone. But when you're up close to personal, you actually see him operate and take control of that 49ers defense. You understand why they're really good. But you saw the Raiders offense start to get clicking, especially when you saw the offense align start to open up some holes for Ashton Genti. I thought that that went really well. Gino Smith said after practice that he thought the offensive line did a |
