as the Locked-on Raider podcast, voicemail line. As we normally do, we close out the show hearing from you, calls, text, a lot of great feedback. Of course, has to do with the game that played on Saturday, 2219, the Raiders Fall to the San Francisco 49ers. So a lot of that feedback we'll get coming up is segment number three of the show. Segment number two, want to talk about the positives, want to talk about the negatives, and also want to talk about something to pay attention to. Got a couple nuggets there as well. Really want to deep dive into what we saw week two of the regular preseason as the Raiders are getting closer and closer to the start of the regular season. Got one more preseason game to go. Then they'll have the cutdowns and then it'll be time to go to New England and take on the Patriots for week one. So what they're doing as a team, as a unit, as they're evolving and coming together throughout the course of preseason and training camp. We'll talk about that, break it down, segment number two.

1:45.3

Here in segment number one, just news and notes of the day, and really it just happens to be about, you know, being at Allegiance Stadium and hear what Coach Carroll had to say after checking out the film from Saturday's games. So let's go ahead and jump right into it. And again, the 49ers come away with the win and the Battle of the Bay by way of Las Vegas is what I like to call it when it's at Allegiance Stadium.

1:43.8

And it was great to be in Allegiance Stadium.

Myself and Lincoln Kennedy had an opportunity to do the pregame and the postgame show right there from the torch. Well, the pregame was from the torch. Post game was from the broadcast booth. But the pregame was fantastic. We were able to meet and greet with a lot of Raider Nation. a lot of folks that listened to this show here was able to hang out with me, talk it up, chop it up with, you know,

2:21.5

take some pictures with really good time. Alumni weekend as well. Over 180 former Raiders were

2:26.9

in the building. Obviously, Lincoln being a longtime Raider offensive lineman, he was telling

2:31.3

me just how fantastic it was to have all those guys there in the building and the fact that, you know, every team across the league does not do it like the Raiders do when it comes to their alumni. So that alumni weekend is always a really special event. And I thought it, you know, went off without a hitch on Saturday at Allegiance Stadium. And as Lincoln told me, it was great. They were all in the win club, which as he told me, it's different for him to watch the game from the Win Club because normally he's on the broadcast doing the color commentary alongside Jason Horowitz. But with Kirk Morrison taking that role in him doing the pre and post game show with me, he got to watch the game from a different vantage point. But all former Raiders were there in the win club. It was really pretty awesome to see. Also, real quick, before we get into what head coach Pete Carroll had to say on Sunday about the game, man, we got an opportunity to interview rock star George Thorogood pregame at the torch. That was fantastic, right? I really wish I could bring that interview to this show. We just don't have enough time.

3:22.2

But me and Lincoln being able to chop it up with him was fantastic. And it's so funny as I started out the whole interview was talking about, you know, I like to think that I'm a pretty hard worker, right? And as Lincoln says, he's the hardest working dude in show business. I looked at George and said, hey, look, man, I think that I work a lot. and Saturday was 13 days in a row.

3:57.5

I said, I think I work and said, hey, look, man, I think that I work a lot. And Saturday was 13 days in a row. I said, I think I work a lot, but, man, you did 51 concerts in 50 days, like 51 concerts in 50 days as traveling. That's all that. That is amazing. So, yeah, anytime that you think that you're working hard, think about that. That is incredible. But man, what a fun interview. And hopefully you got to hear that either by way of the radio or you were there at Alleghen Stadium and we're able to check it out because he did a fantastic job, bad to the bone. He performed that song at halftime and all of his hits. You know, who do you love? A bunch of great hits that he has. And I mean, he's been doing it for many, many moons. And so I thought he did a great job at the halftime show, which, you know, the Raiders will always put on a great halftime show somebody. It'll be a hip hop artist, a rock star, whatever the case may be on Saturday was George Thorold. He did a great job. But let's go ahead and jump into what head coach Pete Carroll had to say. Of course, after the game, it's hard for him to break it down and tell us exactly what he saw because he hasn't had a chance to check out the film. Well, on Sunday, we caught up with him by way of Zoom. And there was a handful of questions that I wanted to make sure to bring to the table. And the first one, and we'll actually talk about this coming up in segment number two as Well, the first one I want to bring to the table is the question that I asked them about the linebackers and the quarterback play. Check it out. Coach, going back to the linebackers and cornerbacks real quick, the linebackers are veterans that are just now starting to play with each other and the cornerbacks are a bunch of young guys. How do you kind of clean up the communication between those guys and those groups so there's no missed assignments or even blown coverages. Well,

5:09.8

we're not blowing coverages we're not we're not having any major issues in that regard right now um you know from from inside to all the way to

5:15.4

the outside those guys are doing good safety's handle the corners pretty much with their communications

5:19.4

the communication need to continue to grow between the linebackers and the

5:23.2

safeties because they're making the calls that really affecting the front and all of that

5:26.9

in the back end.

5:28.2

So I was really fired up about the linebacker play.
