Kennedy. GUEST: John Barbour is known as "the godfather of reality TV". He created, co-hosted, co-produced, and wrote 'Real People' the first reality show, which was number one on NBC for three years during the early 1980's. He originated the 'AM' show in Los Angeles, was the first newscast movie reviewer for KNBC, where he won 3 Emmys, was film critic for LA Magazine for a decade, won a Golden Mike for journalistic commentary, and was a successful stand-up comic in night clubs and on television.

1:11.8	Okay, I'll get to the onion quickly because I didn't know the time would be flying this fast to get ready to get it over.
1:20.1	We had, so they had that show, and the head writer was Hal Cantor, who was also the head writer of the Academy Awards for 25 years, became a huge fan of mine, helped me get my first television break. But in any event, Neil Simon was there, a dozen other the great writers. And we were totally in awe, absolutely totally in awe.
1:46.3	And also there was Groucher Marks. And Groucher Marks, of course, was one of my childhood
1:52.8	heroes. Every comic, Abbott and Costello, Laurel and Hardy, I haunted movie theaters, so they were all
1:59.6	my hero. Anyway, Hal Ketter wrote what I thought was a very funny opening because Groucher was
2:07.7	going to be the emcee of the show.
2:10.7	And so anyway, Broucher said, Hal, what's my opening?
2:17.4	And so Hal starts to hum, thanks for the memory.
2:22.2	Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-dum.
2:25.8	And then your first line, and we hear that music, Broucho, for a while.
2:30.9	Then the curtain opens and nobody's there and you walk out and you say, isn't it great to hear
