In fact, some leave the hospital with the same issues and ailments they came with.

And though it doesn't happen often, it's a fact of life. On August 23rd,

1938, a man was arrested for getting the revenge he thought he deserved after a botched surgery.

Beltran Dallé Cortez Caravagal, born November 21st, 1908 in Costa Rica, was the youngest of

18 siblings.

He was a good kid, got good grades, and his life seemed to be pretty normal until an

accident irreparably changed his life.

When he was a child in Herodias Central Market, a door fell on him, resulting in a head

injury that left a permanent scar and a humorous fracture on his right arm that never aligned

properly.

As an adult, this arm injury became a consistent issue, and in 1928, when he was 20 years old, he began

a series of surgeries to try and fix the issue.

He had three in total, the first to wire his humorous, and two follow-ups, each performed

by Dr. Carlos Insandi and Dr. Ricardo Morano.

After these failed to fix the problem, in August of 1929, Dr. Morano gave Beltran metal implants only to extract them in 1932.
